Marketing measures

General information

Purpose of data processing: Our website uses tools with which personal data can be processed for the specific purpose of aligning the display of advertising content to the website user's hypothetical interests, derived from individual patterns of use and to measure the reach of our advertising content.

Scope of data processing: For the purposes stated, we, or third parties commissioned by us, process personal data on the website visitor's usage behaviour (e.g. length of stay, websites accessed, content searched for, services used), technical data (e.g. masked IP addresses, devices and programmes used to access the website), and also, subject to approval, data regarding the website visitor's physical location.

This personal data related to the website visitor is merged in a user profile and stored as a file ("cookie") on the website visitor's terminal device. Other websites that use tools of this sort may also access these user profiles occasionally in order to use the data they contain for the targeted selection of advertising content and to supplement such data. Additionally, the third-party providers who make data processing tools available for marketing purposes can store the data contained in the user profiles on their servers.

Legal grounds for data processing: During the course of our processing of data, we disclose personal data to third-party providers only with the previous approval of the website visitor in line with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. We process personal data that is not disclosed to third-party providers due to our legitimate interest in direct advertising in line with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Identity protection measures: The IP addresses contained in the user profiles are invariably masked by abbreviation, so that the IP address stored does not allow identification of the website user. As a general rule, we do not process any further personal data for the advertising purposes described above that allows identification of the website user (e.g. name or address of the website user).

However, data that allows identification of the website user may be merged with the user profiles if the website visitor also uses other services supplied by a third-party provider who provides data processing tools for marketing purposes (e.g. profiles in social media). The data is merged exclusively by the third-party provider and on the basis of any existing agreements between the website visitor and the third-party provider. Data merged in this manner is not provided to us in a way that would permit us to identify the website visitor.

Generally speaking, third-party providers only provide us with aggregated data which we use to measure the reach of our advertising content and the effectiveness of our advertising activities. In particular, we use this data to determine what advertising contents and activities precipitate a visit to our website ("conversion tracking").

Use of cookies: The user profiles are stored as a file ("cookie") on the website visitor's terminal device. The saving of this file is subject to the website visitor's consent which can be withdrawn at any time.

Tools used

Retargeting/Remarketing

This website uses retargeting services from the following provider: Google Ads Remarketing, a retargeting service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Retargeting technology enables us to target visitors to our websites who are already interested in our products with personalised and interest-based advertising. The insertion of the advertising media is based on an analysis of the previous usage behaviour, which is determined using stored cookies. However, personal data is not stored. For you as a visitor, this means that when retargeting technology is used, a cookie, i.e. a small text file, is stored on your computer or mobile device in order to collect anonymous data about your interests and thus adapt the advertisement individually to the stored information. This allows you to view advertisements that are highly likely to match your product and information interests.

Google Analytics reports on demographics and interests

This website uses Google Analytics reports on demographic characteristics, in which data from interest-related advertising by Google and visitor data from third parties (e.g. interests, age, gender) are used. This data is anonymous and cannot be traced back to any specific person and can be deactivated in the ad settings.
